Why are they all so disgusting...

Is it really a crime to want something beyond a one night stand? Why are MOST gay men so: shady, superficial, shifty, shoddy, and shitty? I find myself trapped in a cycle of illogical thoughts, which are most disturbing, that need to be answered.

On a daily basis I find myself checking out the various websites: craigslist.org, myspace.com, yahoo.com, etc,. I routinely get angered by all of the personal ad posts, as they are sexually based. Some of these posts contain language such as "ride this ass," "hot bottom for hot top," or "NSA fun only." The one time I do post an ad that is relationship oriented I get a few replies, when I did meet up with this individuals, it was no date per say. I decide to voice my concerns on the matter to my friends and receive little concern or respect; this alarms me, as they are gay.

It seems the gay community has faltered and big time at that. I hear of people in commited relationships who would actually allow a third to participate in sexual activity, this is ridiculous and disgusting. Additionally, I hear of those who will allow their partner to "do something" with "someone else," also completely outrageous! Realistically, a commited relationship defined to me: is a connection between two people romantically.

I see a systemic problem affecting the gay community today, its called "The Next Best Thing Syndrome."

The Next Best Thing Syndrome, for me relates cars or anything materialistic, generally after I buy something I find something else I want more. I find this happens especially in the gay community, you start dating someone who fits the needs at the time and when you find something else "better than" what you had you trade in your 1982 boy for one that has a birth year of 1987, because let's face it "you are still young at heart and more than likely 15 years older than this person."

Don't believe me? Do you? This is most likely because you hold yourself to this ridiculous standard and find absolutely nothing wrong with it. And should you agree, send me an e-mail we might be compatible.

Has it ever occured to you that people age? I think we all like to forget this little bit of truth, thank god for Bath and Body Works! I hear consistantly from people, "Dude I am 35, I seriously don't look my age, man." That doesn't mean you should be hitting on or picking up guys that are young enough to possibly be your son, pervert! Do the math, 35-18 = , way to young for you!

My favorite gays are the ones that get all huffy about HIV. Once again a non-realistic approach to reality.

There was a time when I was sitting in a bar with one of my good friends, we were discussing HIV positive people. I had never really got into it about HIV, full well knowing that this subject was very personal to some people. Nonetheless, I referred to someone that was HIV positive as "sick," I was verbally reprimanded by my friend. "They aren't sick, it's an epidemic" he said, I remained silent and nodded it off fearing that if I had replied my lights would be punched out. I felt like we use this word "epidemic" to cover up for our own stupid behavior. They are sick, as they have a disease.

The fact remains: while HIV is treatable, there is no cure and progression of the disease leads to death.

I am surprised by the fact that more people don't have it, of course the reply to this is "I ensure that the person I hooking up with doesn't have it by posting some letters such as D/D free UB2."

Yes, that's the answer! Why didn't I think of it sooner?

Our gay pride is an excuse to cruise and hookup with as many guys as possible. We really have no pride anymore as gay people, all we have is digusting behavior.

We want the government to grant us rights, how about let's refrain from being disgusting pigs and start practicing a little self-respect and decency.
